Last updated: 6 December 2025

1. Introduction

Luxury Curtains London Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides bespoke curtains, blinds, furnishings, design, consultancy, and installation services. These Terms govern all quotations, site visits, orders, manufacturing, deliveries, installations and aftercare.

By appointing us and placing an order, you agree to these Terms.

This document incorporates the Luxury Curtains retainer, exclusivity and design-consultancy provisions.

2. Consultations & Design Services

2.1 Standard Visit

A standard visit for measuring and quotation is provided unless otherwise stated.

2.2 Design Consultation Retainer (Case-by-Case)

Some projects require extended professional input (e.g., whole-house schemes, fabric curation, detailed design work, coordination with architects/builders, or automation planning).
In such cases, a design consultation retainer may be required.

The retainer is:

  • applied only when necessary,

  • agreed in writing,

  • credited towards the project if you proceed, and

  • non-refundable if you choose not to continue.

This reflects common practice in the interior design industry..

3. Bespoke Products, Measurements & Specifications

3.1 Made-to-Measure Products

All goods are custom-made. Measurements confirmed during survey form the basis of manufacturing. Any changes after approval may incur additional costs.

3.2 Fabric Joins, Variations & Dye Lots

  • Fabric widths vary; joins may be visible on wider curtains.

  • Dye batches may differ from samples.

  • Lighting conditions may affect perceived colour.

  • Natural shrinkage of 2–5% is standard.

We advise the best approach during planning.

3.3 Client-Provided Measurements

If you supply your own measurements, you are responsible for their accuracy. Any re-make due to inaccurate measurements will be chargeable.

3.4 Changes After Production Begins

Changes to fabric, size, design or hardware after production starts may result in additional charges and extended lead times.

4. Pricing & Payment

4.1 Transparent Pricing

All quotations include VAT unless stated otherwise. Pricing is based on specifications at the time of quote.

4.2 Market Volatility

Fabric, hardware, and supply-chain prices may fluctuate. Any changes affecting your order will be confirmed prior to production.

4.3 Payment Schedule

  • Payment of materials prior to order

  • Payment for production prior to production

  • Fitting / installation fees payable 3 days before installation

4.4 Payment Terms

Payment deadlines and methods appear on your invoice. Orders may be paused for late payment.

4.5 Ownership

Goods remain our property until paid in full.

5. Surveys, Site Conditions & Installation

5.1 Site Surveys

A £120 site survey fee applies and is deducted from any follow-on order. Additional visits required due to access restrictions, site unreadiness, or ongoing construction may incur further charges. Survey fees may be waived at the Company’s discretion.

5.2 Installation Preparation

You must ensure:

  • All openings (heads, jambs, sills) are finished

  • Builders complete plastering and finishing before we return

  • Electrical wiring for motorised systems is completed in advance

  • Access to all installation areas is clear

Fixing is assumed into timber; concrete/steel requires specialist fixings at additional cost.

If required, the Company can appoint builders or carry out the preparatory works as part of the quotation.

5.3 Recessed Tracks

Where tracks are recessed into ceilings, our team installs the track first. Builders must finish plastering before we return to hang curtains. A return visit may incur extra charges.

The Company can appoint builders and/or carry out these works where included in the quotation.

5.4 Access Requirements

Standard access is assumed via Class 1 steps up to 3 metres from floor level. Installations above this height may require access equipment, which must be provided or arranged by the client, unless included in our quotation.

6. Lead Times, Delivery & Scheduling

6.1 Estimated Timelines

Lead times are estimates and depend on supplier availability and project complexity. Delays will be communicated.

6.2 Delivery

Delivery dates are indicative. Storage or redelivery fees may apply if delivery is refused or site access is unavailable.

6.3 Scheduling Installation

Once items are manufactured, we will arrange an installation date convenient for you.

7. Changes, Cancellations & Refunds

7.1 Order Modifications

Changes requested after production begins may incur additional charges.

7.2 Cancellations

Custom-made goods are exempt from cancellation rights under UK law.
If you cancel after production begins:

  • The retainer is forfeited

  • Additional charges apply for materials and work completed

These will be itemised in a cancellation invoice.
